Why gross weight decides your spare parts freight cost

Two parts with the same value can differ by a factor of five in freight once packing and volumetric weight are counted.

Air freight is charged on the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight, so a light but bulky item such as an outrigger pad can cost more to ship than a heavier, compact valve block. That is why every listing shows both net and gross weight plus the carton size.

For sea freight the calculation changes again: volume matters more than weight, and consolidation with other orders can reduce cost significantly. If you are buying several part numbers, send the full list and we will quote both a consolidated and a split shipment.
